"Chai For Cancer" in Indore, Supporting Cancer Patients and
Raising Community Awareness
About Chai for Cancer- it is
Friends of Max's tool to spread
awareness and raise funds for
patients living with CML and GIST
(two types of rare cancers)
The Chai for Cancer Adda is a simple attempt to raise awareness in the community about the needs of cancer patients and hold a fund- aising event that will provide vital support to those facing such a diagnosis. It is the brain-child of Viji Venkatesh (Region Head – India & South Asia, The Max Foundation). Its beneficiaries are patients who are on lifelong treatment for two rare cancers.
We are very happy to share with you that the campaign,
now in its Eleventh Season, has held over
300 Addas in India
(and overseas) and raised over
500,000 cups of chai for the cause.
The recently concluded campaign 2024 - Chai For Cancer in association with MicroMitti and Round Table India 297 started the cancer awareness drive
with bikers heading towards café outlasts - Coffee Concept , Chai Kaapi and Javik Setu.
The premise of the Tea Party or Chai for Cancer Adda is very simple: Volunteers host an Adda in their homes or offices or at a suitable venue. They invite friends, family and colleagues to join them. Each invitee donates a minimum amount of Rs 100 towards a cup of tea; the upper limit of the donation is left to the discretion of the donor. Contributions range from anywhere between 500/- to 5,000/- to 50,000/- depending upon the generosity of the donor.
We also encourage our well-wishers and donors to go online and
make a donation (www.chaiforcancer.org).
We publicize the events on social media
(Chai for Cancer is on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram).
